Michael Tolf: Music/Lyrics

"Restless Man" - from the album "My Greatest Need"

(Michael Tolf)
Lord I've wondered far away from You
I found myself doing things I thought I'd never do
And in my deep and dark despair
I found myself reaching out - hoping You're still there

For if You can raise the dead and calm the sea
I know that only You alone can rescue me
I'm tired of this life I call my own - my own
I've been a restless man
But now I want to come home

Lord You know my doubts - You know my fears
And You've been here with me through my troubles years
Through endless nights and lonely days
Your love has always blessed my life in unseen ways

For if You can raise the dead and calm the sea
I know that only You alone can rescue me
I'm tired of this life I call my own - my own
I've been a restless man
But now I want to come home

STORY BEHING THE SONG

This is probably my "trademark song". It certainly expresses my deepest feelings, and acknowledges that Christ alone can save me. I wrote this song in one of the practice rooms at Western WA. University, in Bellingham, WA. That's where you'd always find me between classes....the music building.
